Your weekly installment of things we’ve been reading around the web.

Video of the Week

The Science of Pornography Addiction. It’s good to hear non-Christians also pointing out the dangers of pornography. While they may be a bit naïve about the method of overcoming pornography addiction (they essentially say, “Just stop it.”), this is a helpful and informative video.

Articles of the Week

Being a Burden, Ed Welch.

Tebow’s Big Fumble, Al Mohler. Tim Tebow’s plan to speak at a Texas church caused a frenzy of controversy. Many were miffed that Tebow would speak at a church whose pastor so openly believes in the sinfulness of homosexual behavior. So Tebow withdrew. But as Mohler points out, there will come a point for Tebow, and for all of us, that we will be forced to state our view, to choose between the current moral revolution and the offence of the Bible.

The ‘Just-You-Wait’ Mantra: Is Marriage Really That Hard? Sharon Hodde Miller. Why do Christians hold threats of impending doom over one another?

Why Pastors Should Read Over Their Heads, Kevin DeYoung. I try to put this in practice as much as possible. It’s geared to pastors, but most of this is applicable and is excellent advice for all Christians.

On The Lighter Side

Generic Prayer Request Generator. I wish I could say that I don’t understand this infographic.
