Pray, Give, Go, Connect

Last weekend we had the privilege at all of our campuses of hearing Andrew Hopper, lead pastor of the next Summit Church plant (watch his message here).  Andrew is planting Mercy Hill Church in Greensboro, NC and I could not be more excited for him and his team.  I have seen God at work in Andrew’s life since he came on staff at the Summit over four years ago and I am confident that God will use him to spread His gospel in Greensboro.  If last weekend’s sermon peaked your interest or if you would like to know more about Mercy Hill, here is a post from Andrew’s team providing four practical ways that you and your family can be involved. 

Pray

John Wesley was once quoted as saying, “God does nothing except in response to believing prayer.”  Although probably a bit of an overstatement, Wesley highlights the centrality of prayer in the life of a Christian.  The team at Mercy Hill is learning anew this lesson as we prepare to head to Greensboro.  We are asking that you pray with us and for us as we seek to take the gospel to this city.

Give

It goes without saying, but a church plant needs financial resources in order to do the work that God has called its people to do.  Therefore, we are asking people to give out of the overflow of their heart in response to the generosity that Jesus displayed towards us.  You can do that easily through our website by clicking on the following link.

Go

We are boldly asking that you consider going with us.  We are always looking for people with a passion for reaching the lost and using their God-given gifts to do so.  Maybe you are at a point in your life where transitioning to a new city would be fairly easy and church planting would fit well for you.  Or maybe you just sense God’s overwhelming conviction to uproot your life even though you see obstacles in the way.  Whatever your situation, we would love to talk more with you about joining the team and going to Greensboro.

Connect

Finally, we are looking for your help in connecting us to Greensboro.  There are several ways you can do this.

Connect us to people

- If you know someone or several someones that live in the Triad area, we would love to get connected to them.  This could be a person who is not a believer and needs to hear the gospel or it could be an individual who is not yet connected to a local church in the Triad.

Connect us to jobs

-  Thirty-five people uprooting their lives and moving to a new city is both exciting and daunting.  We need people who have connections with local businesses, schools, and other forms of work in the Triad to help our team members find jobs.  If this is you please let us know!

Connect us to housing

-  Our team members also need places to live.  We are looking for people who would be able to connect us to homes for sale, rental homes, or people in need of roommates.  If you know someone or are someone who wants to leverage your housing resources for the kingdom of God, please contact us.

We are excited about what God is doing and will continue to do in Greensboro.  We hope that you will take the time to think about how you might be involved with Mercy Hill Church as we seek to make God’s name famous in our state, in our country, and around the world.    GOD’S WORD SAYS THAT WE SHOULD AVOID THE VERY APPEANCE OF EVIL! ALSO,”IF YE WALK IN THE SPIRIT, YE SHALL NOT FULFILL THE LUST OF THE FLESH”. THIS SHOULD BE OUR GOAL CONTINUALLY. WE ARE COMMANDED TO BE BEING FILLED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT! WHAT A CHALLENGE!
