Jesus, Continued…: Why the Spirit Inside You is Better than Jesus Beside You
by J.D. Greear

Jesus, Continued...

Why does God often feel more like a doctrine we know about than a Person we know? Why do so many of us think of Christianity as a lifestyle to which we conform, rather than a God with whom we commune?

Jesus gave his disciples the audacious promise that it was to their advantage he go back to heaven because the Holy Spirit could then come to live inside of them. How many of us consider our connection to the Holy Spirit so strong and so real that we would call his presence in us better than Jesus beside us?

Ready to Launch
by J.D. and Veronica Greear

Ready to Launch

Most of us start out with great intentions about parenting our kids—especially in the area of spiritual development—only to discover that life is anything but a formula. Once immersed in the messiness of our days, we often realize that our best plans and pre-fabricated answers are not enough.

Psalm 127 gives us a vision for how the gospel can shape our approach to parenting. In this seven-session study, J.D. and Veronica Greear mine this crucial Scripture for guidance on topics such as discipline, prioritizing time, balancing a schedule, the importance of church as a second family, and preparing our kids to leave the home and carry on the mission of God.

Stop Asking Jesus Into Your Heart: How to Know For Sure You Are Saved

sajiyh

Greear unpacks the doctrine of assurance, showing that salvation is a posture we take to the promise of God in Christ, a posture that begins at a certain point and is maintained for the rest of our lives. He also answers the tough questions about assurance: What exactly is faith? What is repentance? Why are there so many warnings that seem to imply we can lose our salvation?

Gospel: Recovering the Power that Made Christianity Revolutionary

gospel

Could the gospel be lost in evangelical churches? In this book, J.D. Greear shows how moralism and legalism have often eclipsed the gospel, even in conservative churches. Gospel cuts through the superficiality of religion and reacquaints you with the revolutionary truth of God’s gracious acceptance of us in Christ. The gospel is the power of God, and the only true source of joy, freedom, radical generosity, and audacious faith. The gospel produces in us what religion never could: a heart that desires God.

Presence: Overwhelmed By God

Presence

Presence explores the facets of God’s presence in our lives. Using Exodus 32-34 as a scriptural context, Greear takes illustrations from Moses’ interaction with the Lord and drives home the realities of God’s presence, absence, and power. God reveals to Moses all the ways He is going to bless Israel. But it is God’s presence that Moses most desires. During the course of this study, small groups will have the opportunity to examine the yearning of their own hearts and determine if what they long for is God’s blessing or His presence.

Gospel Revolution: Recovering the Power of Christianity – Leader Kit

Gospel Revolution

Gospel Revolution: Recovering the Power of Christianity – Leader Kit is an 8-session discipleship experience that leads group members to understand how to let the gospel work in their hearts the way religion never has or could. On a journey to greater understanding of the gospel, Pastor J.D. Greear ran through all the religious activities typically associated with a disciple’s life: giving, adopting, missionality, preaching, and witnessing. Though disciplined and intentional in all aspects, only when J.D. “discovered” the gospel of Jesus Christ did everything change. That’s why the objective of Gospel Revolution is to help group members abide in Jesus. They will find that when they do, passion, self-control, kindness, patience, and generosity are the natural results. Marriages will change. Participants will become more self-disciplined. They will be less selfish. Not by concentrating on these things, but as a result of being captivated by the love of Christ. (8 sessions)

Reckless Abandon – Youth Group Video Bible Studies and Handouts

Reckless Abandon

What’s holding you back?

Do you feel like life is full of rules, boundaries and limitations? Many think that Christianity only adds to the restrictions on how we live. But life in Christ is not supposed to hold you back. The gospel propels us forward in ways you never imagined.

In these four sessions, JD Greear uses Scripture to show that being a Christian is not about learning to obey rules. Being a follower of Christ means immersing ourselves deeply in the gospel, because that’s when all the things God wants to see in us are produced.

With biblical teaching and real-life stories, this series will help students live a life that demonstrates God’s compassion—as seen on the cross—and His power—as seen in the resurrection.

  1. Where do you find materials to promote Gospel Revolution for students? Specifically images. I know the promo videos are included on the DVD. Thanks.

    Paul,

I’ve checked about promotional materials for Gospel Revolution, but we can’t find anything particular–images, headers, etc. The best I can offer is this short video from J.D.:

I’m sorry we don’t have anything more robust than that.

  3. Can I use the dvd reckless abandon to encourage non believers to accept Christ? Or is the focus for us christians?

  4. Estephania,

The “Reckless Abandon” materials are directed primarily toward Christians (though they aren’t necessarily inappropriate for non-Christians).

  5. How long is the teaching in the DVD each week for the student Gospel Revolution curriculum?

    Thanks!

    Kevin

  6. Chris Pappalardo May 12, 2014 at 5:44 pm

About 8-12 minutes. No session goes longer than 12 minutes.
